The Korea Polar Research Institute has three major strategies regarding its polar research in conducting various research and projects. The achievements from KOPRI are acknowledged both domestically and internationally.
In 2010, we launched the 'Polar Academic Program (PAP) Project for Domestic Studies and Research on Polar Academic Programs' to promote polar research and foster a next generation of scientists by funding Korean universities in polar research.
Based on these three strategic objectives, we have conducted 13 projects and 10 national research and development projects.
Our research outcomes include 209 research papers (NSC 3, SCI 128, SCIE 51, KCI 17, KCI 2, 4 domestic and 4 others) which were published in major domestic and international journals. We also possess intellectual property rights in the form of 13 patents and 27 registered patents.
