Facing the challenge from the ends of the world
POLAR SCIENCE
The Polar research goals are to understand natural phenomena in polar regions, and to develop and utilize resources in the polar regions. The poles are the coldest, driest and windiest places on earth, which are very interesting for scientific study. Moreover, the poles are the only remaining areas on the planet with a huge uncontaminated natural clean laboratory full of resources.
Recently, it has been reported that the poles play a very important role as a heat absorber of the earth in relation to recent global environmental change.
Polar Science is a multidisciplinary science that covers all areas of natural science and engineering. It can be accessed in all areas of study including undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs. In masters and doctoral courses, students will be able to gain the basic understanding of the polar environment through geoscience, marine biology and meteorology. The appointed thesis advisor will help the student go in-depth to their related field.
Polar science is an area of study suitable for students with a pioneering spirit because they place importance on field experiments in the North and South poles that are full of challenges due to the extreme environments
